HAIYAN — A HISTORY OF STORMS

This atlas combines geological and climatical facts about the catastrophe originated by typhoon Haiyan with a social media layer in form of a timeline, which chronologically features posts of Philippines inhabitants on Instagram, Twitter and different Blogs before, during and after landfall. These two layers allow us to approach the topic from two perspectives, the scientific and the human, in which people communicate their fear or anger against typhoon Haiyan. All images of this atlas, unless otherwise indicated, have been generated within a set of experiments exploring the visual language of wind and storm.
